Harley Davidson dealership owner Bruce Rossmeyer, a familiar face in South Florida, died today in Wyoming -- in a motorcycle accident while on his way to the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota. From the Daytona News-Journal:

A family friend said Rossmeyer was riding with several motorcyclists when they pulled out to pass a recreational vehicle. Rossmeyer was the last in line and was killed when the RV strayed into his lane, hitting his motorcycle...

Rossmeyer, known for giant billboard's featuring his face, a mix between Santa and Hemingway, owned four Harley stores in South Florida, with outlets in Fort Lauderdale, Sunrise, Pompano, and Boca Raton. He bought his first Harley franchise in Daytona in 1969 and in all owned 12 stores, including Destination Daytona, the largest Harley dealership in the world.
He was 64 and is survived by his wife, Sandy, five children, and seven grandchildren.
