A motorcyclist died in Tarpon Springs this afternoon after a crash with an SUV.

The crash happened about 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of Tarpon and Japonica avenues.

The motorcycle was headed east on Tarpon Avenue when it hit the front of Matthew Gravens' 2007 Toyota SUV, which was turning from Japonica Avenue onto Tarpon, according to police.

The 37-year-old motorcycle rider died at the scene. He has not been identified because his family has not been notified yet. Gravens' condition is unknown.

The Tarpon Springs Police Department is continuing to investigate.
